The following presumes you have installed Consolidated XL, as explained in Gettings Started Section, and a have a reasonable knowledge of Excel. You do not need to have completed the following course to use Consolidated XL Wizards and customize the results. However, it will provide a better understanding of the functionality and possibilities.

Getting Values from the Chart of Accounts

For the Chart of Accounts, we have a choice of getting the values by a granular single GL (General Ledger) value or use one function to get a bunch of GL Values, or in other words Spill multiple values into multiple cells.

GRANULAR FUNCTIONS - One Formula in a Cell returns one value

CXL Company Code

One function to get the Value of GL Account 200 for period 1/2023

You can consolidate multiple companies by linking values in a cell to multiple companies using granular functions. The Consolidated XL wizards use these granular functions to hot-link each column to a different company.

SPILL FUNCTIONS - One Formula Spill to Many Cells

CXL Company Code

One function to get the whole P&L/Income Statement for year

This type of function will return single, or multiple GL Accounts under a GL Account, Heading, or even a whole Income Statement, P&L or Balance sheet, and for multiple periods.
